Cape to cape stage 3. Xanadu winery to Colonial brewery through the Pines MTB circuit

This stage of the c2c is from another world. First you cruise through Margaret River before going to a section of nice single tracks that warm you up for the mitical pines circuit. The pines is like Dysney for MTBkers. The pines is specially extended for the occassion and there are multiple places were supporters can cheer the competitors. Then a fire road take you East for the Bussel Hwy and into a forest close to a river. Here a couple of muddy section scare roadies so take care of avoid being close to road bikers since they will try to carry their beautiful bikes by arm. A final descent and climb leads you to the super nice Colonial brewery. Make sure you drink beer here and enjoy the pizzas.

Cape to cape MTB race stage 2. Hamelin bay to Xanadu winery

This stage stage in hamelin bay with a climb in paved roads that brings you straight into the Leewin NP. Here the single tracks starts gaining altitude at a soft pace. A couple of nice decends flows in between the magnificent forest. The scenary is unbelivable but you are riding so fast that is no time for contemplation. When you gain the top of the hill section that goes paralell from the coast, you find the quarry, a small step descend with a hudge bend that you need to pass at full speed. Dont let any roady be before you as they might be scared of the terrain. After the NP the race goes into Contos beach and road. A fairly long climb brings you back to the plains where you will traverse across wineries until you reach Leewin winery. Take a rest and enjoy good food here and the company of the red bull girls.

Cape to cape MTB race stage 1. From Cape Leewin to Hameling bay

Stage one is a killer. The race starts in stunning cape Leewin and goes directly into a gravel road climb. The first downhill is crazy, packed, fast and dusty. Then the second climb of Heartbroke hill is ...heart broking. It is difficult to keep the pace with the pack and some road riders unable to go uphill. The second downhill is fast and grassy. It has fantastic views to the ocean. Another sandy climb take you to a big downhill with some airy jumps before landing in dune terrain and then the beach. The beach stretch for 2k and kill you and your bike with the salt water. After the beach the trails climb to a nice farm with some hilly terrain. There is one more climb before the final descent into Hamelin bay caravan park.
Wash your bike here and lube it well for the next stage.

Nos encanta este arbol en Applecross. Cada vez que pasamos nos subimos y le sacamos fotos. Cuando estas arriba puedes ver el rio y el parque desde otra altura. A las niñas les fascina. Este manana fuimos a correr temprano. Hicimos ejercicio en las maquinas al lado de la parrilla. Que lugar!
